Case study

Stichting Mano

Stichting Mano is a Netherlands-based organisation supporting refugees and newcomers in their integration and participation in society. Through education, guidance, and community-focused initiatives, the organisation helps people find their way toward a stable and meaningful future.

We have worked closely with Stichting Mano for over eight years, supporting all aspects of their visual communication and developing a consistent visual language that evolves with their mission.

Challenge & Approach

The challenge

Stichting Mano communicates with diverse audiences, including refugees, volunteers, partners, institutions, and the wider public. Their work involves complex topics such as integration, education, and social participation, which require clarity, sensitivity, and trust.

Our approach

We developed a consistent visual language that supports clarity and human connection, while remaining flexible across formats and evolving needs.

Scope of work

Over the course of this collaboration, we delivered:

• Visual identity & branding
• Publications design (books, magazines, newspapers)
• Websites and digital communication
• Photography and documentation
• Films and visual storytelling

Our focus was on building a coherent visual system rather
than isolated outputs.

Over the past eight years, we developed multiple visual identities and a coherent visual language to support Stichting Mano’s projects across branding, publications, web design, photography, film, and digital communication. These visual systems were designed to communicate a wide range of initiatives clearly and consistently, while remaining flexible enough to evolve with the organisation’s work over time.

Film & Storytelling

Video played a key role in communicating the stories of Stichting Mano’s participants, volunteers, team, and projects. Over eight years, we documented a wide range of initiatives with authenticity and care.

Photography

Photography captured the human side of Stichting Mano’s work, highlighting participants, volunteers, and projects across Rotterdam.

Publications

We designed publications — books, magazines, and newspapers — to capture important moments, projects, and milestones in Stichting Mano’s journey, highlighting their work and impact.

Webdesign& digital communication

We designed, developed and managed over eight websites for Stichting Mano, providing all digital communication visuals needed to support their projects. This ensured a consistent and accessible online presence for all of Mano’s initiatives.
